Ceremony Booking

What you will need to book the ceremony

Valid credit or debit card, please note we do not take American express.

Venue

We plan to have your marriage or form a civil ceremony in a licenced room in The Garden Room, 34 Peckham Road or Southwark Register Office.

If you require a registrar to attend a place of worship, please complete this form. 

If you require a registrar to attend a venue approved for civil ceremonies in the London Borough of Southwark, please complete this form

Conditions

You are both free lawfully to marry or form a civil partnership.

You must give notice of your intention to marry or form a civil partnership and have at least 29 days before the civil ceremony.

You may need to apply for visa to get married in the UK if you:

  • are not a British or Irish citizen
  • do not have indefinite leave to remain in the UK
  • do not have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme
  • did not apply to the EU Settlement Scheme on or before 30 June 2021

If  one or both of you do not have the appropriate visa or immigration status for marriage or to form a civil partnership, the Home Office might investigate the relationship and increase the notice waiting period to 71 days.

Your booking is provisional and subject to giving notice and paying the ceremony fee.

All ceremonies booked on a Monday at the Southwark Register Office are statutory ceremonies for the couple only and two witnesses. No music or readings are available on this day. Only two guests are allowed who will act as your witnesses, this includes a translator if one is required

All ceremonies booked on a Wednesday in The Garden Room include the exchange of the legal declarations, the exchange of rings and the signing of the schedule, one certificate, ceremony duration is approximately 20 minutes or less, short time in the garden after your ceremony, no enhancements are permitted. The Garden Room can accommodate 37 people (the couple and up to 35 guests including children and translators)

All ceremonies booked on Thursday to Saturday includes: the exchange of the legal declarations, the exchange of rings and the signing of the schedule, one certificate, ceremony duration is approximately 30 minutes or less, short time in the garden after your ceremony, personal vows, one reading, and your own choice of up to three pieces of music if desired. The Garden Room can accommodate 37 people (the couple and up to 35 guests including children and translators)
